Non-Transportable
We're not just transporting pets — we're ensuring safe, comfortable, and stress-free relocation. This means there are some types of pets that we cannot transport.
At Furward&Barkward, our goal goes beyond mere transportation; we aim to safely and comfortably relocate your cherished pets. To maintain this standard, we've set criteria focusing on the health and safety of every animal in our care. This page details the specific categories of pets we do not transport and the reasons behind these decisions. Please review our transport criteria for clarity on our process. Should you need alternative transport recommendations, please contact us. We likely have trusted partners who can work with those specific needs.
What Matters Most
10-Day Health Certificate Requirement
For the safety of all pets under our care, we mandate a 10-Day Health Certificate verified by a veterinarian for every transported pet. This ensures both the health of your pet and the welfare of others during the journey.
Importance of Proper Documentation
We strictly adhere to pet transportation legal standards. Complete and proper paperwork helps us understand your pet's health, behavior, and unique requirements, ensuring a smooth journey. Without the necessary documentation, we cannot guarantee transport, as this ensures that every pet on board meets legal and health guidelines.
Aggressive Behaviors
Our team's safety, as well as that of the animals, is crucial. Consequently, animals that show aggressive behaviors or need muzzling aren't suitable for transport with us. This ensures a calm environment for all pets.
Birds and other temperature-sensitive animals have unique care needs. For everyone's safety and comfort, we've decided not to transport animals in this category.
Temperature-Sensitive Pets
Significant Health Conditions
Transporting can be stressful for pets with significant health issues. To prevent any complications, we opt not to transport pets with major health concerns.
Age-Related Considerations
Different age groups in pets come with varying needs. For their safety, we advise that only pets within certain age and health parameters be considered for transport. This ensures younger or older pets, with unique requirements, aren’t exposed to potential transport-related stresses.
Reptilian Habitat Essentials
Reptiles need their familiar habitats during transport to ensure their well-being. If a suitable environment cannot be provided, transport with us may not be ideal for the reptile.
Venomous, Poisonous, and Dangerous Species
Certain pets pose higher risks during transportation.
This list includes but isn't limited to:
* Venomous Reptiles: Such as vipers and certain lizards.
* Poisonous Amphibians: Like poison dart frogs.
* Dangerous Invertebrates: Medically significant spiders and scorpions.
* Toxic Fish: Species containing toxins, e.g., pufferfish.
* Large/Aggressive Predators: Large constrictor snakes and some large lizards.
For these animals, specialized transport services are recommended.
Deceased Animals and Biological Specimens
In line with our commitment to the living pets under our care, we don’t transport deceased animals or related specimens. For such needs, we recommend seeking specialized services.
